Kylie Minogue kicked off her Anti-Tour in style in Melbourne last night – to an intimate crowd of dedicated fans – and there was hardly a hit in sight.
She and her team delved deep into the archives to satisfy fans of all ages, who’d turned out expecting things to be very different from what we’ve all come to know and expect from a Kylie show. No dancers, no glitter, no outlandish costumes – just Kylie and her band on-stage belting out songs not heard for years.
From the early days, ‘Made In Heaven’, ‘Always Find The Time’, ‘Things Can Only Get Better’ and ‘Enjoy Yourself’ were amazing, there were b-sides including ‘Cherry Bomb’ and ‘Paper Dolls’ and from the Light Years era ‘Bittersweet Goodbye’ and ‘Disco Down’.
She even serenaded her parents with one of her dad’s favourites – ‘Tears On My Pillow’ from the soundtrack to ‘The Delinquents’.
Kylie has this morning uploaded this little teaser of what to expect when the show rolls into Sydney for two performances only tomorrow night.
