Warren Nomi’s life journey reads like the stuff of movies – a kid from New York growing up performing in church behind his gospel singing mother, discovering the music of Culture Club, Wham and Prince and sneaking it into his home, entering talent competitions, working in record stores and club promoting before finally finding where his passion lay – in the world of dance music.
His music started resonating – being spun by some of the city’s finest and most renowned DJs. Then, after shopping around an EP, Warren found himself signed to start-up dance label Citrusonic Stereophonic. And the rest is history.
More recently he’s been working with some big names including the gorgeous Imani Coppola and US urban star Mya.
But his latest baby is a single entitled ‘Rush’, and along with a swag of top notch remixes, the track was released just a couple of weeks ago.
Chew Fu and Eddie Amador are among the DJs who have lent their talents to the remixes, but we’re quite enjoying the original version of the track, which is infused with a grinding mid-tempo electro beat and a catchy-as-hell chorus. It’s available digitally now.
