This could well go down as one of the most bizarre reasons for postponing a live show in the history of postponing live shows.
Cold Chisel are postponing this Thursday night’s Melbourne show because Ian Moss has been bitten by his family’s cat. Yes, the ravenous feline nipped Sir Moss on the middle finger late yesterday, causing an infection resulting in severe swelling.
As such, doctors have advised the performer that he’ll be unable to take the stage on Thursday night, but should be fully recovered by next Wednesday night’s performance at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion, which is being beamed into cinemas across the country by www.cinemalive.com.
In a statement released from his “hospital bed”, Ian said, “I’m sorry to inconvenience our fans who had tickets for Thursday in Melbourne. It’s amazing that something like a cat bite can lead to a postponed show – that’s what happens when you call your album ‘No Plans’. Sorry to be a pussy, I look forward to making amends next week.”
The band has rescheduled their shows for Thursday night next week, April 19. All other details remain the same and tickets are fully transferrable to the new date.
