We love ourselves a bit of Darren Hayes here at auspOp – so much so that his single ‘Bloodstained Heart’ took out our No.1 pop song of 2011.
Now, however, comes the next chapter for the ‘Secret Codes And Battleships’ project, with official servicing this afternoon of his new single ‘Stupid Mistake’.
The track follows on from ‘Talk Talk Talk’, ‘Bloodstained Heart’ and ‘Black Out The Sun’, serving as the fourth official single from the album – and the official video for the track went live on YouTube a couple of weeks ago (read our post about it HERE).
Of the track, Darren says, “It’s a very complicated song because it addresses the issue of a betrayal and of a loss of innocence. It’s angry and it’s bitter in places.”
Darren will be seen on our screens later this month in a mentoring role for Delta Goodrem’s team on Channel 9’s hit new series ‘The Voice’, providing support, encouragement and guidance to her contestants.
The ‘Stupid Mistake’ EP (featuring the radio mix of ‘Stupid Mistake’, live versions of ‘Black Out The Sun’ and ‘The Siren’s Call’ and the Wayne G Club Mix of ‘Bloodstained Heart’) will be released digitally here in Australia this Friday.
