We made mention of this brand new single from Swedish singer Erik Hassle a couple of weeks back, calling it a “gorgeous, stylish, emotive ballad that strips away all electronic pop production and replaces it with a flurry of strings and pared back production that allows Erik’s vocal to truly shine”.
It’s an incredibly heart-felt track and now with the official video finally seeing the light of day, we can see that it’s not just the electronic pop production that’s stripped away. Erik’s clothes have seemingly disappeared too, but with good reason.
The directors have decided to use his chest as the blank canvas on which to project images of young love – but it’s not been specifically created for the clip. Turns out that the vision is from a movie entitled ‘A Swedish Love Story’ that was nominated in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 43rd Academy Awards back in 1971.
An elegant, simple, touching music video.
