How in the world did we miss this one? We’ve mentioned Sydney-based singer Fantine a couple of times on the site already; the first with her debut single ‘Rubberoom’ back in March last year. We’ve always been rather taken by her feistiness, flavour and sense of style. But how in the world her latest single ‘Perfect Strangers’ passed us by, we’ll never know.
The official video to the single dropped in early February and it’s literally just been released in Spanish guise (that’d be ‘Desconocidos’ – HERE).
A rumble of drums introduces us to a fresh, bright and breezy international-sounding song, that explodes with a string-filled, sweeping chorus that’s impossible to ignore. It’s big, it’s bold and it’s another surefire sign that the Moscow-born songstress has big adventures in her future.
And the clip… Big props to Timothy Baker for creating something that’s absorbing, stylish and world class.
Fantine continues to impress. This is a particularly strong release that deserves a whole lot of attention.
