Now here’s a little bit of news that may surely put a spring in your pop step… Multi award-winning Canadian songstress Nelly Furtado will release her brand new album ‘The Spirit Indestructible’ in the middle of June.
The first single from the album, entitled ‘Big Hoops (Bigger Is Better)’, was co-written by Furtado and Rodney Jerkins. It was serviced to media in Australia a short time ago.
Rodney’s not the only big name Nelly’s worked with on the new record either, with Tiesto, Salaam Remi and John Shanks also listed among the collaborators on the new project.
“I began writing these songs around the time I released my Spanish album Mi Plan,” Nelly said in a statement. “I was in a great headspace, feeling refreshed and ready to really deliver in English again. This album is all about positivity, youth, good energy, and the relentlessness of the spirit. I want people to live this music the way we did when we wrote it.
I want them to jump, dance, scream, laugh, cry, love, and vibe to it, and to turn it up very loud everywhere.”
‘The Spirit Indestructible’, Nelly’s first English language album in six years, will be released into stores on Friday June 15.
The single ‘Big Hoops (Bigger The Better)’ is available digitally now.
