British outfit Keane’s latest album ‘Strangeland’ premiered on the ARIA albums chart at No.49 a couple of weeks back. This week just past, however, it had completely disappeared from the top 100. Proof, we guess, that Tom and the boys have a small but highly dedicated Australian fan base.
It’s a shame too, because we really liked the lead single ‘Silenced By The Night’ and believe that if Coldplay can make it on our local charts, then surely another British band pumping out great songs like Keane can also make a go of it.
The boys have headed down to the south of England for their latest clip – not too far down the road from where the band was formed, actually – to a tiny seaside village called Bexhill. Here it all looks very white and sanitised. Thankfully the boys know a number of the locals, who parade up and down the sea front performing all kinds of acrobatic tricks, bike tricks, hula hooping etc. There are belly dancers, rowers, Bollywood dancers, parkour participants… There’s even a brass band – though they’re for visual purposes only. Then it’s off to the Sovereign Light Cafe (which actually exists) for a photo or two.
