• Sony Music obviously thought that Cher Lloyd’s latest single ‘Want U Back’ needed a little extra push along at radio, so they’ve reserviced the track to Aussie media this week. There’s still no word, however, on a local release for her album ‘Sticks And Stones’.
• Also doing the media rounds this week are the new Adam Lambert single ‘Never Close Our Eyes’ (which is The Music Network’s coveted single of the week), Foster The People’s ‘Don’t Stop (Colour On The Walls)’, remixes of Ricki-Lee’s single ‘Do It Like That’ and the aforementioned new Cheryl Cole single ‘Call My Name’. • It feels a little bit strange to be speaking about the Pyramid Rock New Years Eve festival on Victoria’s Phillip Island so early in the year, but organisers have revealed that their Mega Early Bird tickets are on sale for this year’s event now. • Perth based rock outfit Sugar Army will hit the road early next month for three special shows in support of their new single ‘Hooks For Hands’. • And speaking of Perth outfits, local lads Gyroscope were to take to the stage shortly for a benefit show to raise funds for local Dana Vulin, who fell victim to a shocking attack in her home two months ago. Sadly, tragedy has befallen band member Zoran Trivic, who suffered two badly broken legs after being hit by a car while riding his motorbike last Monday. The band has therefore postponed the benefit show to Saturday September 22 at the Rosemount Hotel to give Zoran time to recuperate.
