It’s been nine long years since “the purple one” last visited Australia for a tour, so demand for tickets was always going to be rather high.
Second dates in Sydney and Melbourne were added to the schedule by touring agent Chugg Entertainment just minutes after tickets hit the sales desk back in the middle of April. A third show in Melbourne and a second in Brisbane were subsequently added, but now demand in Sydney has forced organisers to add a third and final concert at Allphones Arena.
Prince will touch back down in the harbour city on Tuesday May 22, bringing to eight the number of shows he’ll perform while in the country.
Audiences can expect to hear smash singles like ‘Purple Rain’, ‘Raspberry Beret’, ‘Cream’, ‘Little Red Corvette’, ‘When Doves Cry’, ‘Diamonds And Pearls’ and the stunning ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’.
Tickets for the new Sydney date are on sale on Monday.
