Sydney outfit New Empire reached a new career peak when their latest album ‘Symmetry’ reached the top 40 on its release in September last year. But it’s thanks to this little number and its use on Channel 9’s London Olympic Games promos that has the whole country taking interest.
So much so that the band is hitting the road for a series of headline dates across the east coast, kicking off with a show at The Vanguard in Newtown tonight.
They’re also set to play shows in Brisbane, Melbourne and Canberra, along with a couple of dates in regional centres.
Beyond that, however, their rather inspiring video clip (below) has just edged over the 50,000 view mark.
It’s an incredibly moving piece of film that tells the stories of two runners; their lives worlds apart. Incredibly, both stories are true and one in particular is impossibly confronting. It’s a great piece – and a fantastic Aussie single that deserves to be supported.
