Melbourne outfit Oh Mercy will release a brand new album in August. It’s set to be called ‘Deep Heat’, after frontman Alexander Gow tried to decide what title he’d give to an ’80s dub compilation.
‘Deep Heat’, it turns out, is about much more.
“I wanted to explore the effect of groove in songs that I had written very simply in a ‘singer songwriter’ fashion on the piano,” Alexander said in a statement. “To craft a song with passion and fervor and then see if I could then not take the typical singer songwriter approach to the recording.”
Recorded in the US, the band has released a little teaser video so fans know a little more what to expect when ‘Deep Heat’ drops on Friday August 24.
