Mercury Prize-winning indie poppers The xx are returning to our shores next month for two very special live shows.
The band will play dates in Sydney and Melbourne only, with a lottery system in place, designed to stop ticket scalpers in their tracks.
“We are very excited to be returning to Australia soon for two small shows,” the band said in a statement. “To try and stop touts getting all the tickets, there is a lottery system which you can apply for. Hope to see you xx”
The band will play tracks from their Mercury Prize-winning debut long player ‘xx’ and will no doubt showcase numbers from their recently announced sophomore record ‘Coexist’, due later this year.
The ballot for tickets to both shows is open now, but closes at midnight tomorrow night. Those successful in getting tickets will be notified on Wednesday, so quick sticks!
‘Coexist’ is due for release via Remote Control Records on Friday September 07.
