Do these eyes (left) look familiar to you?? The veil of secrecy has been lifted off Melbourne singer songwriter Dune, whose new single ‘Shoestring’ has been gaining a little airplay on Triple J of late. ‘Dune’ is the moniker of Melbourne songstress Jade MacRae, who delivered a selection of R&B/pop hits in the mid to late ’00s including ‘You Make Me Weak’, ‘So Hot Right Now’ and ‘In The Basement’.
The new project sees Jade heading in an entirely different sonic direction – hence the change of name for this new musical adventure.
It’s driving, edgy indie electro-pop that showcases Jade’s vocal and is sure to satisfy pop purists and her fandom, along with drawing in some from the alternative set.
A full sub-six minute version is available as a free download via the singer’s Soundcloud page (link below), with a global digital six track ‘Shoestring’ EP release proper coming this Friday.
Dune will also celebrate the release of the new track with launch shows in Sydney and Melbourne.
