Those who can cast their minds back to the early 1990s will remember an altogether intoxicating song by British soul songstress Tasmin Archer entitled ‘Sleeping Satellite’. It was a smash No.1 hit in the UK and reached the top 20 here in Australia.
Fast forward two decades and Melbourne DJ James Fraser is bringing the song back to life via a dance-fied cover version that has been co-produced by The Linn Lovers.
It’s being released under James’ alias Stereolove and has been vocalled by amazing local singer songwriter Betty Vale. The new version will also come complete with a raft of remixes from the likes of Linn Lovers, Fabian Gray and Paul Goodyear. While the remix bundle won’t drop until sometime next month (an official release is still TBC), the radio version is at digital retail, with the exception of iTunes, where it will appear shortly.

Whilst I love dance music every dance version I’ve heard of this amazing song sucks big time. They all seemed to lack any soul that the original just oozed. Whilst I hope this version is different to previous attempts I’ll wait and see
