By now you’ll be aware that The Presets have a brand new album coming later in the year. It’s called ‘Pacifica’ and those who are canny enough to be pre-ordering the LP through iTunes can nab themselves the first track from it – ‘Youth In Trouble’ – right now. It seems that the Modular team is being careful not to call this the first “single” from the new album, calling it a “taste” and a “street track”, so presumably something a little more radio friendly is forthcoming as the first single proper.
The video clip to accompany the ‘Youth In Trouble’, however, is a colourful little adventure – created by New York artist Yoshi Sodeoka and featuring kaleidoscopic, sometimes heavily pixellated imagery that harks back to the heady days of the ’80s when we were still playing hangman from a tape machine on our Commodore 64s.
‘Pacifica’ will be released in standard and limited deluxe editions on Friday September 14.
