Most of Australia got to know Ms Carmen Smith through this year’s inaugural season of ‘The Voice’. An early favourite in the competition, she was edged out because of her appearance on Guy Sebastian’s criminally underappreciated single ‘Gold’ and its accompanying video.
But she was no stranger to the Australian music industry previously, having worked on albums by Ricki-Lee and Casey Donovan and contributed vocals to music released by the likes of Guy Sebastian, Thirsty Merc and more.
Now, however, Carmen is ready to shine in her own right again, with the impending release of her new single ‘They Don’t Know Me’, which has been described by her publicists as “an in-your-face, no-holds-barred-super-funk track”.
The track is slated to hit media around the country on Monday and will hopefully find favour at radio before it hits digital retail the following Monday (August 27).
