Firstly let’s get this off our chest… This is a STUNNING picture of the gorgeous Clare Bowditch. And before we find out tomorrow how her album fared in this week’s ARIA charts, she’s announced that she’ll team up with the John Butler Trio early next month for a free concert in Melbourne’s Federation Square.
‘Concert For The Kimberley’ will see the two acts come together in order to support the pristine Kimberley region of Western Australia, which is under threat from development by some of the world’s biggest oil and mining companies.
“I believe passionately in protecting beauty that, once destroyed, can never be recreated,” Claire said in a statement announcing the show. “The Kimberley is one of those things, so when I was asked to help join the fight I jumped at the chance.”
Missy Higgins, currently touring in the US, will send a message of support to those in attendance and former Greens leader Bob Brown will also address the crowd, highlighting the concerns.
The concert, to run from 6-9pm on Friday October 05, is free, but donations will be gratefully accepted.
