• THE GRISWOLDS : Heart Of A Lion (Purple Sneakers DJs Remix)
Sydney indie-poppers The Griswolds are having one hell of a ride of late, recently taking out Triple J’s ‘Unearthed’ series for 2012, in the process scoring themselves a slot at the upcoming Parklife Festival in their home town.
Naturally, they’re pretty excited. So excited that they’ve decided to give away a special Purple Sneakers DJs remix of their track ‘Heart Of A Lion’ for no pennies whatsoever. Join in the celebrations for the band and nab it for nix right HERE.
• SNAP : The Power (Zebo Remix)
’90s anthem alert! Yes, Snap’s ’90s stormer has been given a little lick of paint by Chicago-based DJ Zebo. So celebrated is he in his hometown that he’s won the vote of his fellow Windy City residents as ‘Best Local DJ’ for the past three years in succession. And after his appearances at Lollapalooza and the North Coast Music Festival, he’s lent his talents to this remix, which is described as adding a “trap music twist” to the original. Better still, Zebo is offering the mix up for free download right HERE.
• BUTTERFLY BOUCHER : 5678! (Moist Remix)
Yet another remix being offered up for nothing this week, this time courtesy of gorgeous Adelaide songstress Butterfly Boucher. You’ll no doubt be aware by now that Butterfly worked extensively with Missy Higgins on her new album, but she’s also still popping out her own tunes and released her self-titled album back in April. ‘5678!’ was one of the singles released from it and now she’s giving away a remix of said track free. All she’d like in return is your email address HERE.
• DANNY SHAH : Like This
We made mention of handsome up and coming Scottish singer Danny Shah back in February this year, when he revealed the video for his single ‘We Are Connected’. It had gone viral on account of the fact that it featured appearances by the likes of Katy Perry, Rihanna, Jessie J, Nicki Minaj, Britney Spears, Madonna. Sort of.
Anyways, he’s back with a cute two and a half minute earworm entitled ‘Like This’. And you’re certainly going to ‘like this’, because he’s giving it away free with a simple ‘Like’ on FACEBOOK.
• WARREN NOMI : The Rush (Eddie Amador Megamix)
Another handsome pop singer we’ve mentioned on the site before is New York based singer Warren Nomi. He recently released his new single ‘This Summer I’, but in addition to that has also popped out three remixes packages for his previous single ‘The Rush’. To celebrate their release, Warren and his team is offering up another free download – this time the Eddie Amador Megamix of ‘The Rush’. Included in this four and a half minute freebie are elements of the remixes by Chew Fu, Mansionman, IDeaL & J-Break and PVH. Bag it HERE.
• DAVID LIM : Running Away
He’s been quite possibly one of the biggest supporters of this here pop music megafest over the past four and a bit years, so we’re sure as hell going to offer up some love of our own in return. David is the man behind the feisty and very cleverly-penned ‘FeedLimmy’ music blog (HERE), he’s somewhat of a style icon too, but he’s also a rather talented songwriter, penning this track back in 2010 for another performer before snaffling it up as his own. So go right ahead and support someone who supports us. Give it a listen and a download HERE.
Another week of delightful #FreeTrackFriday fabulousness! Hopefully there’s something in among that lot to float your pop boat. Don’t forget, we’re here each week with servings of pop amazingness that there’s no need to open your wallet for. It’s all fully legal, but all fully free.. Spread the word and come get your pop fix on Fridays.
