It was in late July that Sony Music confirmed that they’d signed the talents of Melbourne boys The Janoskians. Though the five piece were best known for their prank videos on YouTube, Beau from the band let it be known that the band was ecstatic to be signing to the global giant.
“Signing with Sony Music is the icing on the cake and we can’t wait to get into the studio and start laying down some tracks. We still have to pinch ourselves to believe that this is really happening,” he said in a statement.
Now their debut single ‘Set This World On Fire’ has hit; rush released to both media and retail today.
Co-penned by the boys themselves, the track is precisely what we expected it would be – a mainstream dance/pop/rock hybrid that’ll have their followers clambering to the nearest digital outlet to press “Buy”.

Come on Sony. Australia has a surplus of young talented guys who’d be ace at being our answer to One Direction, and yet you sign five guys who gained fame from puking up milk and annoying people on public transport? Really?

When will this be released on iTunes and will it be released internationally?

This is crazy… they have never been known for their ‘music’. All their Youtube videos are prankster videos.. this is a huge blow to people who actually want to sing yet haven’t landed a record deal.
Do you know when this is released on iTunes and also if it will get a worldwide release? (Btw the cover art is a bit flimsy…)
