With their self-professed more mature, more urban sound, the lads from British boyband JLS no doubt needed a more mature, more grown up clip to go with it – and that’s precisely what they deliver in the official video for new single ‘Hottest Girl In The World’, which premiered late last night Australian time.
As such, there’s no club to be seen. Nor a party or a pool in sight. Instead, it’s all very minimalist, based in a studio with the boys dressed in black and white, while their ‘hottest girl in the world’ temptresses dance around them.
The Timberlake-esque track is enhanced by the series of handclaps which form the track’s backbeat, along with the regular stabs of acoustic guitar which give it its musicality. Then there are those vocals from the lads that range from old fashioned urban to glorious falsetto. Super-strong, clever-fresh stuff that could work anywhere in the world. Yes, even here in Australia.
‘Hottest Girl In The World’ will be released in the UK on October 21, followed shortly thereafter by the boys’ new album ‘Evolution’ on Monday November 05. No word on Australian action for this yet.
