While Australia might not have heard of the name Ron Pope before, his fellow countrymen and women in the good ol’ US of A certainly have, thanks largely to a 2006 viral video that saw his single ‘A Drop In The Ocean’ go viral, garnering more than 20 million views on YouTube.
Fast forward six years and Ron has just dropped the official video to his latest single ‘One Grain Of Sand’ (below). It’s a fab, friendly, soft pop/rock number with a great hook and honeyed vocal that sounds so damned familiar. We reckon us Aussies might just fall for his musical charms – and we hear on the grapevine that we’re not the only ones who think so.
Ron’s latest album ‘Atlanta’ is due for release down under on Friday week and shortly thereafter, he’s Australia bound to play three intimate dates on the East Coast.
“Australian fans were some of the first ones to jump on board for me,” Ron said. “Aussies have been asking me to visit for years and I can’t wait to get down there for the first time this November. I really want to hold a koala, so I’m hoping we can finally make that happen while I’m down there!”
He’ll kick things off with an acoustic show at Melbourne’s Chapel Off Chapel on Thursday November 15 before visiting Sydney and Brisbane. Tickets for all are on sale now.
