Fans of singer songwriter Damien Leith will already know this track from his album ‘Now & Then’, but that was then – and this newly recorded duet version with ‘The Voice’ songstress Diana Rouvas is most definitely ‘now’.
Damien and Dianas’ harmonies in this are stunning – testament to the level of their lasting friendship.
The clip features footage of Damien out and about amongst the bustle of the city, all intercut with the twosome’s time in the studio recording the single.
And while you’re not likely to hear it on your nearest Austereo or Nova network station, ‘Run’ is a gorgeous track that serves to showcase two extraordinary vocalists at their finest.
‘Run’ is released digitally this Friday.

Well said Wake Up Radio I agree with everything you say.
I think Anonymous (October 18)should be ashamed of herself for all the vandalism she has done on Damiens stuff.
Guy.S. would be disgusted if he new he had a fan like her.

Are you talking about Brian Mcfadden is he a judge on X Factor or the other one.
Why shouldn’t Damien do a song with Diana they have been friends for years.
I think you should go and get a life you spend way too much time on the computer.
Wake Up Radio says
Actually Anonymous (October 18) you are running true to form for anything ‘Damien’. I was missing you and your stats and garbage and for your information, no I was not referring to Guy Sebastian, strike that, an X Factor judge. He is not potty mouthed as you have mentioned but it seems that everyone these days has to have a ft.
Are you paranoid that your little Guy was getting attacked like you constantly do to Damien?
As far as Damien using someone from The Voice, Diana Rouvas has been the support act for Damien many times in the past (pre The Voice) and their friendship goes back 8 years, so it is understandable that he asked her to do the female part of the song. It works very well.
Maybe you should listen to the song again so that you can get a good nights’ sleep. You obviously didn’t have enough before writing your post.
If you are not interested in Damien why do you go onto his online site?
Stick to Guy and stay happy.

One minute in and I was already bored almost to sleep. That is the reason Damien’s music is not played on the pop stations. He writes boring non pop songs. And for the poster with the cynical comments about overseas rappers and tattoos who I believe may be referring to a certain X Factor judge. Yes he has had three overseas features on singles, two of which reached #1 and 4x platinum, and one which reached #8 and platinum. But he has managed to achieve seven other top ten singles as well, including three which reached multi platinum, all without the help of a featured artist. In fact four of his six #1 singles do not have a feature, either Australian or overseas. And the two that do, were the first #1 singles those featured artists ever got, not only in Australia, but anywhere in the world. So who was helping who here in Australia? As to the potty mouth, where did that come from. LOL
Now me being rather cynical as well, I wonder why Damien is using a singer fresh from The Voice. Could it be to try to get her fanbase on his bandwagon. You could say the X Factor judge did that with his previous single I suppose, but he recorded the song before the contestant went on the show, not after. Yes the video was recorded after she signed on to the show and the song released as a single then. But funnily enough although it went gold and top ten for one week, it is sandwiched between two 4x platinum singles. So The Voice connection certainly didn’t help there. Just got her disqualified. And I even saw a thread on Damien leith online created just to discuss how badly it was going. But of course if Damien managed top ten and gold these days for a song it would be a huge lift, all things considered.

Damn can Diana sing. I loved her on the voice and how she could hit some killer high notes. I love how she belts it out around the 2m25sec mark.
They sound brillant together. I think this is just pure class.
Not all music has to be high energy pop.

You are right auspOp this song is stunning, but you say it needs to be on the Aria charts to get played on the radio, how is it going to get on the Aria charts if people don’t hear it or know about it. Thats why songs are played on the radio so everyone can hear them.
Wake Up Radio says
Thank you for your answer AuspOp, however it is very difficult to get chart success without airplay.
The likes of 2Day etc have great delight in having Damien on their show to do stupid things and then ignore him.
He is often called the nicest man in music but it is true…nice men come last.
So annoying and it must have Damien wondering what he has to do to be noticed.
The ‘Nanna’ tag was given to him by Mark Holden or Kyle Sandilands on Idol (cardigan wearing Val Doonican comment) but there were several young ones in the audience at the State Theatre. Just goes to prove his wide range of appeal to all ages (if they know about his concerts/releases.)
I have just realised what he needs to do…get tattoos, a potty mouth and a revolting video and a ft (name any US rapper) here.
OK, thanks for your reply.

I’m not a nanna or anywhere near being a nanna and I love Damien Leith. I thought radio was about playing the best music, and This song Run is the best.

Hey team,
Unfortunately, both Austereo and Nova are chasing the same market at the moment. It’s all about staying completely fresh and up to date. So anything by Rihanna or Nicki Minaj or Katy Perry etc etc is an instant pick up, while tracks from the likes of Damien would be seen to be more for the nannas.
Their chase for the advertising dollar is what dictates what’s played.
But if Damien and Diana’s single were to chart in the top ten on ARIA for a few weeks in a row, they’d have no excuse not to play it. Charts = popularity = airplay.

Can you please tell me why they say …. you’re not likely to hear it on your nearest Austereo or Nova network station ??
Wake up radio stations says
I really like both versions of RUN, the original album version and this new single with Diana Rouvas.
It saddens me to read that we are not likely to hear this on Austereo or Nova. It is something that we know deep down but WHY does Damien get ignored by radio?
He has one of the best voices in the country, can sing a range of songs and is a knockout performer in concerts. His last concert at the State Theatre 6th October was a testament to that. Full house standing ovation says it all.
AuspOp, are you able to shed light on the no radio play please?
