Melbourne songstress Owl Eyes continues to go from strength to strength with her music career. From a critically acclaimed EP to a sold out national headline tour, to Triple J darling to Channel [V] favourite, it seems the build has been incredibly organic as more and more people fall under her spell.
Her label Illusive has announced that they’ll release the debut album for the 22 year old singer (real name Brooke Addamo) early in the new year. Entitled ‘Nightswim’, the LP will be a collection of “progressive pop” songs and has been co-produced by Jan Skubiszewski and Stylaz Fuego. It’s currently expected on February 01.
In the meantime, the clip for the singer’s latest single ‘Love Run Dry’ is now live.
The track is a slow burning electro alt-pop number and the clip sees our leading lady with some rather mystical powers (sadly they don’t seem to extend to her ability to apply coherent makeup).
But it’s gorgeous homegrown pop – and it deserves to be heard.
