Sometimes when you live in one of the most remote countries on earth, it’s easy to miss the formation of a new girl band. So we guess it’s not surprising that we were none the wiser about British four piece Vanquish and their debut single ‘The Harder You Love’.
Vanquish are Holly, Kayleigh, Lizzy and Rianna and they’ve spent the past 12 months working their arses off in Britain in the hope of getting noticed. They’ve performed at the Silverstone Grand Prix, toured with Westlife on their farewell tour and with Steps on their reunion tour and have traipsed up and down the country performing in schools.
Yes, they’ve put in the hard yards, so we guess that now we’re across them, we ought to give them a little love from down under.
Their debut single, released back in May, is entitled ‘The Harder You Love’ and it’s a colourful, camp, disco-pop romp that’s been penned by the same man who wrote Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)’, Britney’s ‘(You Drive Me) Crazy’, Guy Sebastian’s ‘Angels Brought Me Here’ and the inimitable ‘A Moment Like This’ (Kelly Clarkson/Leona Lewis).
And brilliantly, the track is also available on the local iTunes store. So now we’re on board with Vanquish, perhaps it’s time for you too…
