She might not have impressed the judges enough to make it through to the live shows on this year’s season of Australia’s ‘X Factor’, but there’s no denying Keeda’s got talent (to borrow from the title of that ‘other’ yearly reality competition) if her debut single is anything to go by.
Released independently, ‘Ain’t No Cinderella’ is essentially a track about self-empowerment; realising what’s important in life and embracing it with both hands.
Says Keeda of the track, “I think a lot of young girls (and some boys!) will be able to relate to this song. It’s about embracing your independence and being yourself without relying on a boy or caring what anyone else thinks. I play an almost anti-Cinderella, everyone expects her to be a certain way so I wanted to make her more unpredictable.”
And unpredictable she is, if the official clip below is any indication… The action opens on a topless Keeda in chains with her back to the audience, before she sets about her cleaning tasks. Soon, however, she’s out in the woods with a cavalcade of quirky characters (see below) for a dance break and the second set-up.
Gotta hand it to her… It’s pretty slick stuff.

I really liked this girl from when we first saw her back on Season 2 of So You Think You Can Dance (she made the Top 8, under the name Kat that is) so I was disappointed when she was put in the eventually failed girl group on X-Factor.
Best of luck to her! :)
