It’s been a fierce competition for your compilation dollar over the past decade… ‘So Fresh’ vs ‘NOW’. The Universal/Sony camp vs the EMI/Warner team. The pendulum always swang in either direction depending on your penchant for pop – or indeed depending on which duo of mega-labels was experiencing the most chart success at the time.
But with EMI now being purchased by Universal globally (and the two labels set to combine from early 2013), could this retrospective look back at the past decade spell the end of the road for the fabulous ‘NOW’ compilation franchise here in Australia?
Whether it is or isn’t, there’s no denying that this two disc set is stacked with some superb pop gems from the recent (Emeli Sandé and Professor Green’s ‘Read All About It’, Ricki-Lee’s ‘Do It Like That’ and David Guetta/Sia’s ‘Titanium’) to some of the more vintage tunes of the past decade (Jamelia’s ‘Superstar’, Robbie Williams’ ‘Feel’, The Veronicas’ ‘4Ever’, Missy Elliot’s ‘4 My People’ etc etc).
There are 44 tunes to choose from across the double disc set and like its ‘Hits Of Summer 2013′ counterpart, ’10 Years Of Hits’ will drop at Aussie retail on Friday December 07.
