It’s not the first time that German dance/pop outfit Cascada has delved into the Christmas sphere. Back in 2007, they released a moderately successful cover version of the Wham! classic ‘Last Christmas’ as part of their ‘Perfect Day’ album.
They obviously enjoyed it, because this year they’re back with a whole album of festive favourites, including said 2007 recording. There’s ‘Silent Night’, ‘Santa Claus Is Coming To Town’, ‘Winter Wonderland’ and even ‘Jingle Bell Rock’, but they don’t follow ‘Last Christmas’ into the dance arena – they’re performed more traditionally.
Brilliantly for the band’s Aussie fans, the album has been released to our local iTunes store too.
The highlight single, obviously, is the super-succinct ‘Let It Snow’, which at sub two minutes, is just enough of a taste to get you in the mood (or not). Natalie’s vocal do the tracks justice, but is it really different enough from whatever else is out there for people to take notice?
