Her album ‘Our Version Of Events’ is quite possibly our favourite album of 2012, with so many amazing new-soul classics, from the euphoric first single ‘Heaven’ to the touching ‘Read All About It’, heartfelt ‘My Kind Of Love’ and infectious ‘Next To Me’, there’s nothing about the album that we haven’t liked. So now that ‘Clowns’ has been chosen as the new highlight track, it’s already scoring highly in our books.
It’s another stunning ballad, filmed entirely in black and white as Emeli is forced into doing something she’d rather not to. So she puts on a metaphorical mask and goes on to perform.
More breathtaking stuff from the Sandé camp that begs the question… Why is she not a huge global star?

I thought Suitcase was the next single?

I can’t help but feel single choices are holding her back – songs like ‘Mountains’ or the fantastic newer upbeat version of ‘Breaking the Law’ would give her a better chance at being played on radio as opposed to the average ‘Next to Me’, ‘Daddy’ or ‘Clown’. It’s an amazing album but they’re ignoring the key songs for some reason.
