As mentioned late last night, when those five frisky fillies from Girls Aloud teased us with a snippet of the video for their new single ‘Beautiful ‘Cause You Love Me’, the official video was due to drop today. And it has.
The track is the second new tune to be lifted from the girls’ recently released best-of album ‘Ten’ and follows on from their UK No.2 smash ‘Something New’.
And this one’s a world away from its predecessor. While that was bold, brash and very pop, ‘Beautiful ‘Cause You Love Me’ is a ballad, the premise of which is primarily contained within the chorus, “you don’t love me ’cause I’m beautiful, I’m beautiful ’cause you love me”.
And instead of Cheryl and Nadine getting most of the vocal parts in this one, it’s Kimberley, Sarah and predominantly Nicola that get their chance to step into the lead vocal limelight. Sweet tune.
