Right, so we weren’t fans of Stooshe’s single ‘Waterfalls’. There was no need whatsoever for the girls to resort to uninspired cover versions so early on in their existence. And it seems the public agreed; the track became the lowest charting single in the band’s three single history and missed the top 20 entirely.
And while this new track lifted from their forthcoming debut long player deals with the serious subject of a woman who’s ripping off the social service and spending her time in pubs being a ‘playa’ and a right ‘slapper’, it’s so much fun.
It takes the girls back to the infectious, cheeky fun of their first single ‘Love Me’ and makes us want to forgive entirely their recent past TLC-coverin’ sins.
So a little word of support for the Stooshe girls… don’t go chasing ‘Waterfalls’, please stick to the fizzy, sassy pop that we’re used to. Thankyou.
