It’s been a few weeks since we last delivered a Free Track Friday upon you. In fact, it was an early Christmas present that we delivered on December 21. But new year means new freebies, so here we are for our first Free Track Friday for 2013. Plenty to get your pop chops around below, with a selection of genres to boot.
So let’s not dally, download fingers at the ready…
• CHEZDUNE FTG. ANGELO : Here With Me
This little gem straight out of New York popped into our inbox recently courtesy of auspOp reader Mitch. And while there’s absolutely no information about the performer on his (or her) website, Facebook or Twitter accounts (apart from the fact that he’s straight out of Brooklyn), all we need to know is that the single ‘Here With Me’ is a soulful, smooth dance/pop track that deserves to be heard – and Chezdune is offering it up as a free download. We’re seriously impressed with this and suggest that you head HERE immediately to bag it for nix.
• MITZI : All I Heard
We don’t know quite what’s in the water at the headquarters of Future Classic, but they most certainly know great music when they hear it. One of their signings, Brisbane outfit Mitzi, is on the verge of releasing their debut album ‘Truly Alive’ and if the track ‘All I Heard’ is anything to go by, then there’s something altogether spectacular to look forward to when the album drops on February 19. One part funk, one part soul and a sliver of disco makes for euphoric listening – and fantastic freebie downloadin’! Grab it HERE.
• SLEEPY DREAMERS : Winter Make Way
Here’s a gorgeous piece of indie folk courtesy of Melbourne outfit Sleepy Dreamers. The band may have only been treading the boards for close on three years, but they’ve quickly developed a loyal and passionate following. Their latest single ‘Winter Make Way’ is lifted from the band’s forthcoming EP entitled ‘Creatures’, which will be released in March. Awesomely for you, the band is offering up ‘Winter Make Way’ as a free download. And we reckon you’re going to love it. Bag it for nothing HERE.
• YULIANNA : December Sky
Kazakhstan native Yulianna honed her craft while studying at the California Institute Of The Arts and has since enjoyed a rather privileged professional ride, working with legendary songwriter Walter Afanasieff and achieving airplay across the country. Her new single ‘December Sky’ sees the singer move into a more dance/pop direction and the combination of slick production and her husky vocals (that are, at times, reminiscent of Bonnie Tyler’s) works rather well. Her fab publicists are currently giving you the chance to download the track free HERE. An album entitled ‘Californ-i-a’ (cover pictured) is due to drop on February 13.
• LYN SAGA : This Way
From the same fine publicity team comes a slightly more organic track, courtesy of US singer songwriter Lyn Saga. More guitar-based, the single ‘This Way’ (also available as a free download) is lifted from the singer’s just released album ‘Venice’ (cover art pictured). Lyn grew up on the US east coast, but found the music of the sun-drenched beaches of California more to her liking. Get your hands on a copy of ‘This Way’ by clicking on THIS link.
