Where did that nine years go? Swedish songstress Agnetha Fältskog needs no introduction as one of the voices of one of the most iconic bands ever to grace planet pop… Abba. But it’s been an extraordinary nine years since Ms Agnetha last delivered an album – 2004’s ‘My Colouring Book’.
But the long wait for fans is almost over, with Universal Music Sweden announcing that she’ll release a brand new album entitled ‘A’ in May this year.
And Agnetha herself is bursting with excitement about the new material saying, “I never thought I would sing again, but when I heard the first three songs, I couldn’t say no.”
The lead single is ‘When You Really Loved Someone’ – a gorgeous ballad penned by Swedish hit writer Jörgen Elofsson, who’s previously worked with the likes of Britney, Kelly Clarkson, Westlife and even Steps. He’s currently writing alongside Aussie songstress Tania Doko.
And in the official video, which premiered a short time ago (below), Agnetha’s looking and sounding as amazing as ever.
No word yet on an Australian release for the album, but we’ll keep you posted. (Single at iTunes now)
