Big props to Brighton boys the Freemasons, because over the past eight years, some of their remixes have become staples of our weekly playlists. Tracks like ‘Rain Down Love (2007)’, ‘Nothing But A Heartache’ and ‘Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer) are modern club classics and their remixes for the likes of Faith Evans, Beyonce, Luther Vandross and Whitney have transformed run of the mill chart fodder into timeless dancefloor anthems.
So it’s with understandable enthusiasm and excitement that we welcome Russell and James back to planet pop with their brand new single ‘Bring It Back’.
And it would appear that the boys have lost none of their fizz in the past three years, with a new dancefloor favourite that’s packed with their trademark beefy beats, pops of trumpet, tin-taps and the occasional vocal sample.
While it’s not mainstream enough to see them tearing up the charts, it’s certainly enough to satiate their patient fans. The single’s available digitally now.
