Melbourne songstress Owl Eyes has this afternoon broken cover on her debut album ‘Nightswim’.
The singer (real name Brooke Addamo) has spent the past three years honing her craft, releasing the much-loved EPs ‘Faces’, ‘Raiders’ and ‘Crystallised’ to rapturous applause from her growing fandom, but she’s been eagerly counting down to the release of her debut album, which will hit next month.
‘Nightswim’ is being preceded by the single ‘Closure’, which has also been unveiled today.
The sub-four minute alt-pop tune (listen below) is all dreamy vocals, smooth beats and radio-ready global-quality production, recalling Fleetwood Mac’s brilliant ‘Seven Wonders’ and ‘Everywhere’. It’s a gem – and if this is an indication of what’s to come when the album arrives on Friday April 19, we’re in for a treat.
