Time’s fast ticking away ’til the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest once again captures Europe’s attention. The contestants are locked in, SBS’ local broadcasts are ‘go’ and we’re continuing our countdown of this year’s competitors.
Entrants from 39 countries across the continent will take to the stage throughout the competition in the hope of taking out the most coveted yearly prize in music – the Eurovision Song Contest trophy.
As always, the competition is split into three finals; the two semi finals (to be held on May 14 and 16) and the grand final (on May 18), in which the victorious countries from the two semi-finals will line up alongside the host nation Sweden and the “big five” of the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
In part 21 of our in-depth look at the 2013 entries, we turn to three young girls from Serbia.
MOJE 3 : Ljubav Je Svuda
The three starlets from Moje 3 got their start via Serbian TV talent competition ‘Prvi glas Srbije’, with all three progressing through to the grand final of the show where they eventually placed in positions one, two and three. Now Mirna, Nevena and Sara have teamed their powers in an attempt to bring home the ultimate accolade for their country… the Eurovision trophy (and next year’s competition). Their single ‘Ljubav je svuda’ translates to ‘Love Is Everywhere’ in English and is a dance/pop number in which the girls alternate their (admittedly) impressive vocals. There are three outfits in this live performance, presumably symbolising hell, heaven and earth. We’re not sold on the earth outfit. Not a bad track, however…
