There’s also news about the first single from the album, along with this rather fetching visual taster (also below) and a release date for Australia!
So let’s begin…
‘Electric’ is the follow-up album to last year’s ‘Elysium’ and brings together nine new Pet Shop Boys future anthems, including a collaboration with Example and a cover version of Bruce Springsteen’s ‘The Last To Die’. It’s produced by none other than Stuart Price.
“Electric’ is very much set on the dance floor,” the PSBs said in a statement. “Our latest album often evolves as a response to our previous album and, whereas ‘Elysium’ had a reflective mood, ‘Electric’ is pretty banging! And working with Stuart Price on a studio album is something we have wanted to do for a very long time.”
Recorded between Berlin, London and Los Angeles, the new album is preceded by the single ‘Axis’, which is available digitally in Australia now via iTunes. A video for the track (below) premiered online less then an hour ago.
Pre-orders for ‘Electric’ are available tomorrow. The album will be released in Australia on Friday July 12.
