With ‘The Voice’ back in full swing for its second Aussie season, one of last year’s contestants, Prinnie Stevens, is aiming to strike while the iron’s hot, releasing her new single ‘Don’t Wake Me Up’ next week.
It’s been a busy 12 months for the Sydney-based songstress, touring with fellow ‘Voice’ contestant Mahalia Barnes, releasing a duets album and a nail care range. Prinnie is also set to feature in the upcoming season of Channel 9’s ‘Celebrity Apprentice’.
But it’s seemingly ‘Don’t Wake Me Up’ that she’s most pumped about.
“I’m so excited to be releasing this single, growing up I listened to American sounds of Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson and more! I believe I have finally found the perfect blend of pop music with my RnB Pop vocal over the top and I have never been happier,” she said in a statement.
“I listened to the track and loved it instantly! I went straight into the studio with my vocal producer Phil Anquetil and the second we started the opening line, I knew it was the song for me! I had finally found the sound and style I was looking for.”
Produced by Paul Harris or Dirty Vegas fame, ‘Don’t Wake Me Up’ will hit both radio and retail on Monday.

auspOp i am very suprised Prinnie is releasing any music…
There were 59 cover versions that charted inside the official ARIA Top 100 Singles Chart in 2012 from The Voice Season One. Not a single one was from Prinnie!
This clearly outlines that she may have been popular with the judges on The Voice but the voting / buying public weren’t interested.
