News fresh out of the UK this evening is that we’re about to get our hands on new music from former British ‘X Factor’ starlet Diana Vickers.
Fresh from her fourth place finish in the 2008 edition of the TV competition, Diana released her debut single ‘Once’ and debut album ‘Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree’, both of which hit No.1 on the UK charts.
But three years on, she’s back with a brand new single ‘Cinderella’ – the first to be lifted from her long-awaited sophomore album ‘Music To Make Boys Cry’.
“‘Cinderella’ is about being in love and not caring about any of the material things in life, just wanting to be with that one person you adore,” Diana says in a statement. “It’s about being prepared to lose anything and take every chance to be with them. It’s a play on the classic ‘Cinderella’ story but in this version she’s fallen for her prince so much she would lose both her shoes on purpose if it meant she could win him.”
Though there’s no official word on a local release for either, Diana’s signed to a new global independent record deal, so we’ll cross fingers and hopefully see ‘Cinderella’ in our local online music retail stores from Sunday July 21. And we’re rather liking the snippet below.
