Yesterday wasn’t a good day for fans of R&B/hip hop in Australia, with news that next week’s Movement Festival had been cancelled, but also that the latest Supafest had also been postponed… ’til November.
No doubt having both held in the same week resulted in the festivals cannibalising each others’ audience. Though on the Supafest website, “Dwayne Cross, Principal of Chase Records, has confirmed that there was difficulty completing venue contract arrangements for the Melbourne and Brisbane legs of the festival.”
The new dates and venues are to be announced shortly.
Last year’s events were marred by the cancellation of high profile star Diddy just days out from the first show, along with a claim that Missy Elliot was going to be on the bill – a claim later disputed by the star herself.
