April has been a busy month for fans of former Powderfinger frontman Bernard Fanning. Not only has he unveiled details (including name, tracklist and cover image) of his new album ‘Departures’, he’s also dropped the first single from it ‘Battleships’.
But if that wasn’t enough for fans of the star, he’s today announced ‘The Departures Tour’ – an extensive run of dates across the country throughout July and August.
“I can’t wait to get out into the wide brown land with a new batch of tunes and a new band. This new album is much more energetic so it’s going to make for a really dynamic show when paired with the stuff from ‘Tea & Sympathy’. I hope to see you somewhere out there,” Bernard said in a statement.
Touring in support capacity will be Melbourne’s Big Scary and Vance Joy, with The Rubens, The Medics and Snakadaktal added to the line-up for the Cairns gig on August 17.
General public tickets are on sale from noon on Friday May 10.
