Melbourne outfit The Cat Empire has this morning announced a huge global tour – their biggest to date – taking in centres across the globe from late June.
But the news for local fans is that Australia, of course, most definitely features in their tour plans, with September dates revealed for Perth, Adelaide, Canberra and Darwin, along with double dates for Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
The ‘Steal The Light’ world tour is in celebration of the band’s new album ‘Steal The Light’, which is set for release in the middle of next month. The new album sees the band going back to basics.
“In many ways this record is a return to our original aesthetic, a very simple thing; that the music is for dancing and feeling good. The record and the shows should make people smile, make people dance. That’s all we want,” vocalist Harry Angus said in a statement.
Tickets for the tour are on sale this Friday, with the album due on Friday May 17.
