The Countdown To Eurovision is now in the home stretch, with just days ’til the eyes of Europe will be affixed on the Swedish city of Malmö for the first of the semi finals.
Entrants from 39 countries across the continent will take to the stage throughout the competition in the hope of taking out the most coveted yearly prize in music – the Eurovision Song Contest trophy.
As always, the competition is split into three finals; the two semi finals (to be held this Tuesday and Thursday) and the grand final (on Saturday May 18), in which the victorious countries from the two semi-finals will line up alongside the host nation Sweden and the “big five” of the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
We’re off to Croatia for this entry in part 37 of our Countdown To Eurovision series.
KLAPA S MORA : Mižerja
Let’s hope the Croatians don’t bring down the tone of proceedings this year with their entry ‘Mižerja’, which means ‘Misery’ in English. They’ve decided to try something a little different this year, however, entering a group of six male performers who’ll be singing the track, which sounds surprisingly uplifting and positive. They’re essentially like our own Ten Tenors, but at 40% off the marked price. Gorgeous voices and an admittedly gorgeous traditional-style pop track.
