We’re now just six days out from the beginning of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, when as 39 countries from across the region compete for the most coveted prize in music – the Eurovision trophy.
All eyes will be firmly affixed on the Swedish city of Malmö for the first of the two semi finals, in which 16 countries will compete for a place in the Grand Final on May 18.
There, they’ll line up alongside the host nation Sweden and the “big five” of the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
We’re continuing our countdown today with a look at another of the big five in France…
AMANDINE BOURGEOIS : L’enfer Et Moi
France is tackling the 2013 edition of Eurovision by taking along a familiar face in 2008 ‘Idol’ winner Amandine Bourgeois. While the singer’s debut album hit the top five after her win, her second album, released early last year, failed to set the charts on fire, missing the top 40 altogether. Presumably her label is hoping to reignite her career via her Eurovision appearance, where she’ll perform the track ‘L’enfer Et Moi’ (‘Hell And Me’).
It’s a pretty sexy, sultry number to which Amandine’s soulful vocal is perfectly suited. It builds beautifully to a rousing crescendo before ending abruptly.
The clip (below) follows along the sexy, sultry theme, with a myriad candles all providing a moody, dark setting for Amandine to seemingly plot her revenge against a jilted lover.
