It’s down to the business end of our Countdown To Eurovision, with just two days to go ’til the official opening in Malmö… the first of the two semi finals.
39 countries from across the continent will descend on Sweden on Tuesday to battle it out for a place in the Grand Final this Saturday, where they’ll meet up with the host nation and the “big five” of the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain in the hope of Eurovision glory.
We’ve now reached the penultimate in this year’s look at each of the Eurovision entries. And we’re off to Moldova.
ALIONA MOON : O Mie
23 year old Moldovan songstress Aliona Moon is no stranger to Eurovision competition, having represented her country in last year’s edition back in Baku. But on that occasion, she was playing the part of the backing vocalist. This time, however, she’s stepping out of the shadows to perform the Romanian language single ‘O Mie’ (‘A Thousand’). We’re quite liking this dramatic little track too, which is guided by the steady hand that is Aliona’s vocal, which is the real star here.
