It’s been a while between drinks (so to speak) for British songstress Diana Vickers. After placing fourth on the 2008 edition of ‘The X Factor’, she went on to release her debut single ‘Once’ and debut album ‘Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree’, both of which achieved No.1 placings on their respective charts. But since 2010, nothing.
Nothing, that is, until now, with ‘Cinderella’ – the lead single from her forthcoming sophomore album, due in Britain later in the year.
“‘Cinderella’ is about being in love and not caring about any of the material things in life, just wanting to be with that one person you adore. It’s about being prepared to lose anything and take every chance to be with them,” Diana said in a statement.
In keeping with the Cinderella theme, she’s off to the masquerade ball, where she’s captured the attention of a curly-haired young gentlemen intent on making her his.
It all goes rather swimmingly, really. Diana looks phenomenal and we’re quite liking the tune too, but sadly no mention of an Aussie release. Let’s hope her new label can rectify that in the near future.
