Their performance on Monday night’s episode of ‘The Voice’ was pretty special… So special, it seems, that Delta Goodrem’s guest performance on the Gurrumul track ‘Bayini’ has now been released digitally.
Delta filled in for Sarah Blasko on the Gurrumul single to promote the launch of National Reconciliation Week and the response after the performance was overwhelming, with fans across the country reportedly flooding social media in the hope of having the performance released. Their wish came true today.
“Gurrumul is one of this country’s greatest voices and to receive his invitation to perform on ‘The Voice’ was so special and something I will cherish forever,” Delta said in a statement, released this evening. “The response has been so incredible and to have our version of ‘Bayini’ released today is the ultimate outcome to support the launch of Gurrumul’s foundation.”
All artist and label proceeds from the sale of the track will go directly to the newly formed Gurrumul Yunupingu Foundation, which aims to help young people in indigenous communities realise their potential.
