In our recent interview with Lawson’s lead guitarist Ryan Fletcher (HERE) he told us, “We have got new music coming out, which I personally think is definitely the best stuff yet. So I’m very excited for you guys to hear it and see what you think.” So don’t say you weren’t warned…
Hot on the heels of their Australian visit earlier this month, Universal Music has moments ago officially serviced Lawson’s new single ‘Brokenhearted’ to Aussie media.
And just when you thought they were beginning to make inroads with their debut album ‘Chapman Square’, this tune is entirely new; not from the LP, suggesting there may be a repackage to come in the not-too-distant future. (“Maybe we’ll put ‘Chapman Square’ back out there with some new songs on it,” Ryan hinted).
Joining them for the new single is US singer B.o.B, who made a name for himself across the globe alongside Bruno Mars with the single ‘Nothin’ On You’. Lead singer Andy Brown is full of praise for the new tune.
“‘Brokenhearted’ is definitely a bit of a turning point for us as a band. It’s my favourite song we have recorded to date. It was a dream to get B.o.B on the track. The whole band are huge fans of his. He really took the song to the next level and we had a great time shooting the video with him.”
Said video, filmed in the Hollywood Hills, is due for release soon. The single is available for pre-order through iTunes.
