There is absolutely no doubting the talent of US soul singer Alicia Keys. A prolific songwriter, consummate performer, incredible vocalist and stunningly beautiful woman physically, she has a complete package that has us begging the question, ‘why is she not bigger than she is?’.
While she is indeed brilliant, you can tell that ‘Tears Always Win’ is a “tail-end-of-the-album-campaign” kinda single. It’s lovely, soulful and has a great hook, but it lacks that certain spark – that je ne sais quoi that would tip it over the edge into the realms of lead single territory.
There’s plenty to like visually, as Alicia performs on the famous Vegas strip, but the blatant product placement sticks out like a sore thumb.
