Just over 24 hours since bringing you news of Sir Elton John’s new album ‘The Diving Board’, Universal Music has today confirmed its local release.
The album once again sees the legendary singer teaming up with his long-time lyrical collaborator Bernie Taupin, who naturally Elton is full of praise for.
“The great advantage of having Bernie as a lyricist is he’s a very cinematic writer,” he says in a statement. “I get a piece of paper and it has as story on it. Then I sit down at the keyboard…and because the story he’s telling affects what I’m hearing…something comes out. I don’t know what it is. It’s as exciting as it was when I wrote the first melody to his first lyric, way back in 1967.”
‘The Diving Board’ will also feature recent collaborations with both Fallout Boy and Queens Of The Stone Age and a deluxe edition will feature a bonus track and three live recordings (marked below with an asterisk).
It will impact Australian retail on Friday September 13.
